Project Description:

The planning of this project required the design of a modern house located on a corner plot with a 3.5-meter elevation difference. The green existing context, surrounded by Trembesi trees, inspired us to create a structure that feels LIGHT and OPEN. The building mass planning consists of front and back masses unified both in form and function by a staircase shaft wall. The front mass, dominated by twisted wood sunscreens, intersects with the elongated black facade made of bitumen sheet walls. The presence of large openings on the first floor ultimately gives a lightweight impression to the mass composition. Functionally, it provides ample natural light and effective cross ventilation, making the interior spaces feel spacious and cool. Additionally, the visual effect of "bringing the outdoors indoors" is achieved through the large openings. Overall, this design prioritizes comfort in terms of function, light, and air, packaged in a building mass that is attractive yet harmonious with its surroundings.
