BUILDING OF THE YEAR
Project Description:
Where privacy meets the Forest Veil House is a renovation project that transforms an existing structure into a new architectural experience. Instead of rebuilding from scratch, the design refines the original framework—responding to its urban context while introducing openness and calm. Perforated boundary walls filter light, air, and views, providing privacy without disconnection. The house embraces Connected Living, with living spaces facing east, service zones buffering the sun, and lush gardens integrated throughout. Large glass panels dissolve the boundary between inside and out, extending the living experience into nature. TOSTEM aluminum doors and windows were selected for their durability, watertight performance, and refined finish—ideal for this water-adjacent, high-humidity site. The result is a home that breathes with its surroundings, balances shelter and exposure, and gently hides itself within the forest it becomes part of.
