Project Description:

Set in the serene landscape of Theni, Western Valley House is a linear residence inspired by the idea of a house as a valley—open, immersive, and reflective of its surroundings. The design responds to the contours of the land and the western facing lake, using offset bays and open corridors to frame views, channel breezes, and harvest filtered light. Materials like locally sourced granite, corten steel, and louvered stone enhance contextual harmony while reducing thermal gain. Landscape and architecture merge to promote sustainable, connected living, balancing built and natural elements across thresholds. TOSTEM’s high performance fenestration systems were chosen for their precision, minimal profiles, and weather resilience, ensuring seamless indoor outdoor flow while maintaining comfort and energy efficiency.
